Michelle Héon

Michelle Héon was born in Saint Romuald, Quebec, in 1948. She studied with Magdalena Abakanowicz at the School of Fine Arts in Poznam before becoming a teacher, invited artist and lecturer in Canada - at the Banff Centre in particular - and in France, England, Japan and so on.

She now lives and works in Montreal and Paris. Although she is well known in Quebec for her strongly connotative "archaeological" objects made of paper and always presented inside, the Lachine Canal project will give her the opportunity to create one of her spectacular ephemeral in situ installations outside.

These exterior activities have brought her renown in France and England recently.
